tour-1The morning of your reservation, our truck will pick you up at your hotel in Constanza to transport you to the beautiful trail that leads up to the waterfalls in Aguas Blancas (White Waters). The ride to the trail lasts approximately 30 minutes, taking you through the countryside and communities of the Constanza region. During your ride, you will see the unique agricultural areas where vast amounts of produce, in particular strawberries, are grown.

Upon you arrival, your guide will welcome you and lead you to the trailhead where you will hike for approximately 40 minutes. While hiking the trail you will learn about the history of the Constanza region and the importance of the Valle Nuevo (New Valley) National Park. This area is home to crystal clear streams that originate in the mountains, descending to become the thunderous rivers that provide water to the regions of Bonao and Santiago. During your hike, you are sure to enjoy the fresh air and Dominican mountain climate while your guide teaches you about the flora and fauna that are endemic to these majestic forests and unique to the Caribbean.

Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a homemade Dominican meal surrounded by beautiful tropical scenery and see how Dominican women use cocoa to make wine, chocolate and marmalade. For those wishing to take a part of the experience home, these delicacies as well as local handicrafts are available for purchase.

tour-2Your hike ends with two lookout points perfect for enjoying views of the waterfall and surrounding mountains, and are perfect photo opportunities. At the top of the trail you will have one of the best views in the country, with the highest waterfall in the Caribbean as your backdrop.

Following the hike, enjoy a lunch typical of Dominican cuisine: delicious sancocho (stew) or la bandera dominicana (rice, beans, and chicken) cooked over an open fire using a traditional Dominican cooking method. The restaurant is close to the waterfall and provides great views of the surrounding mountains.

This hike is for the whole family to enjoy! It is an easy walk where you can learn about the nature of the region, while enjoying some of the best views of the mountains of Constanza. After lunch, you will return to Constanza where our truck will drop you off at your hotel.

If you prefer to visit us with your own vehicle, all you need to do is make a reservation with our staff to let us know that you are coming and we will wait for you in the restaurant “Perla de Aguas Blancas”, located just past the community of El Convento, on the main road leading to Salto de Aguas Blancas.
