Day 1:
On arrival to the community of Los Calabazos you will be welcomed by one of the members of the Club de Madres La Esperanza. They will show you to your room, making sure you are comfortable, and give you a tour of the facility. After dinner, there will be a bonfire with community members demonstrating how the Taino Indians painted their bodies and relating stories about the Taino arts. During the campfire, enjoy hot chocolate and smores with the cool evening weather.
Day 2:
In the morning after breakfast, a guide will take you on a tour through the community where you will see a typical "Conuco"; how local people grow their own organic vegetables at home for their personal consumption. You will also visit neighboring greenhouses and vegetable farms.
In the afternoon you will be invited to the home of one of the families in the community to learn how roast and grind coffee in a “pilon”, a traditional Dominican method. At the end of the afternoon enjoy a cup of coffee that you roasted and ground yourself.
Day 3:
In the morning you will be served a delicious Dominican breakfast and have the chance to hike, explore or just relax. Before you bid us farewell we will present you with a delicious traditional lunch, prepared with all the flavors and aromas of the Dominican countryside.

We are sure that you will find at least one or two fruits that will be new and exotic to you! On this farm you will also see a coffee plantation and all the processes used to prepare the coffee for sale.

After breakfast and a short drive to Jarabacoa prepare yourself for adventure as we take you on a rafting tour of the North Yaque River, the longest river in the Caribbean. Enjoy this escapade amid professional guides who will take you through the river canyons where you will be able to appreciate the nature of the striking surroundings of Jarabacoa.
