Exploration Hike

Take a ride up in the Caribbean’s only cable car soaking in the incredible vistas. Get spectacular views of the city and the mountain while you relax at a scenic overlook and have a snack and a nice cold drink. Hike 4km down through cloud forests and tropical forests where you are sure to encounter a number of the area's 37 species of birds, 13 of which can only be found on the Island of Hispaniola.

Summit Hike

Challenge yourself with a 4km hike up the mountain through dense tropical forests filled with spectacular views. The lush green of the tropics, the melody of bird songs, and the flight of butterflies will surround and enchant you. Once you reach the top, on a clear day, you will be able to see all of the Puerto Plata coast from Sea World in Cofresí in the west to Sosua Bay past the airport in the east and all of the city of San Felipe de Puerto Plata just below you. Have a rest and some refreshments before riding down to the base on Puerto Plata’s unique cable car tram.

Mountaineer’s Hike

This full day hike is not for the faint of heart. This trip is a 4 km hike from the base of the Loma Isabel de Torres to the top through all the colors and sounds of the forest to the summit where you will have some time to rest and look around before hiking the 4km back to the base of the mountain. This trip is for those who want to be able to say that they fully conquered the mountain!

Overlook Hike

For those visitors looking for a less strenuous experience, come and enjoy a walk to the lookout point where you will enjoy 360o views with the majestic mountain peaks behind you. View 20 miles of coastline from Confresí’s Sea World to the west to Sosua Bay in the East. Enjoy a snack and some refreshment before your return to the base of the Teléferico Cabla Car.
